Messi has also been removed from the latest Argentina squad, allowing him to enjoy some light training sessions in Florida. The problem being nursed by the all-time great is not considered to be serious, but he will not be rushed back into action.

According to journalist Hernan Claus, Messi will be unavailable for a trip to the New York Red Bulls on Saturday. Tata Martino will also be without his talismanic captain for a home date with New York City FC on March 30. The plan is to have Messi back for a Champions Cup clash with Monterrey on April 3.

Claus claims that Messi’s recovery is “going well”, as he works on a muscular ailment in his right leg, and Inter Miami are confident that he will be in “optimal condition” for a meeting with Mexican opponents at Chase Stadium.
