  Marseille have agreed a deal to sign Igor Paixao in a club-record transfer worth around €35 million (£30m). The Brazilian's imminent arrival has led to speculation that the Ligue 1 side could now part ways with Greenwood. The former Manchester United forward has attracted "strong interest" from Saudi Arabia and could command a hefty fee of around €50m (£43m), which would be a club record sale, according to .

  THE BIGGER PICTURE

  Greenwood has attracted interest previously after a prolific campaign with Marseille. The 23-year-old finished the 2024-25 season as Ligue 1's joint top scorer alongside Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembele on 21 goals. Despite the speculation, Marseille owner Frank McCourt has said as recently as June that his wish is to keep hold of Greenwood and build a team around the former Manchester United player.
