Writing on Twitter, reliable Hammers insider ExWHUemployee has shared a crucial update on Angelo Ogbonna after the West Ham United defender’s collision with Aleksandar Mitrovic – and it is very good news.Â

Ogbonna latest

Ogbonna, who couldn’t travel with Italy after picking up a worrying groin injury, is now revealed to be back in training and could return in time for the Hammers’ trip to Sheffield United.

An update which could be great news for David Moyes and co, West Ham faced a potential absence for one of their best defenders, but this latest news confirms that Ogbonna is back in contention and more than likely to be available for selection after the international break.

Transfer Tavern take

As part of a back three under Moyes, the 6 foot 3 colossus has shined alongside the likes of Aaron Cresswell, putting in stable defensive showings as West Ham aim to continue their recent run of form.

Despite a lacklustre start to the campaign, they have picked up great results against the likes of Man City and Tottenham – with a last gasp victory at home to Fulham arguably the perfect way to cap it off before the Premier League break.

News of Ogbonna’s return could only increase the Hammers’ optimism heading into December, with Moyes aiming to have his best crop to choose from as his side aim to continue avoiding a relegation battle.
